Rebun International Field School 2018 will be held in August as a part of Hokkaido Summer Institute...
The Advanced Core Research Centre for the History of Human Ecology in the North project undertaken by a team of scientists from Hokkaido University's Center for Ainu & Indigenous Studies and other institutions was adopted by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) as a 2013 Core-to-Core Program (Advanced Research Networks). The project is intended to support the establishment of a cross-disciplinary research center that will elucidate the history of relations between people and the environment in northern regions and foster the development of young researchers. It will be implemented in collaboration with cooperating institutions in Japan (The University of Tokyo's University Museum and the University of the Ryukyus' Graduate School of Medicine) through research exchanges with overseas core institutions (the University of Aberdeen's Department of Archaeology (UK) and the University of Alberta's Department of Anthropology (Canada)) and an overseas cooperating institution (the University of Oxford's Oxford Centre for Asian Archaeology, Art and Culture).
